Landlord update: New EPS Requiremements

From the 1st April 2018 new regulations for Energy Performance Certificates will be coming into force for new lets and renewals of tenancies and for all existing tenancies on 1st April 2020.

Any property that is rented out which breaches the requirement for a minimum E rating will be unlawful and could face a civil penalty of up to £5,000, unless there is an applicable exemption.

We are unable to rent any property that has an EPC rating of F or G.

Below are just some suggestions that could improve your EPC rating dramatically...

  • Insulate the property
  • Install double glazing throughout
  • Replace all bulbs with low energy ones

If you would like an updated EPC please contact the office as we have a valued EPC surveyor offering EPCs at competitive prices!
